At our own wedding, we made the decision not to hire a videographer. A friend graciously offered to film it for free… and we accepted.

But on the day of, something went wrong: he forgot to press record until well into the ceremony. And then, even that footage was accidentally deleted.

To this day, we have no video of our vows, our walk down the aisle, or the toasts. Just memories.

To make matters worse, my wife never got any solo bridal portraits. Our photographers meant well and gave us a great deal — but in the end, we missed out on capturing her beauty in that once-in-a-lifetime dress.

That moment is gone.
